The cost of being the strong one
You were praised for being able to handle everything. Nobody warned you what that praise would cost.
Being the strong one is a paid role. The salary is admiration. The invoice comes later, and it is paid in intimacy.
People stop asking if you are okay because you have made it clear you always are. Partners stop offering because you have made it clear you do not need. The world adjusts to the shape of your capacity and gives you exactly as much support as you appear to require. Which is none.
You did not lose your femininity. You optimized it away, one competency at a time.
The way back is not weakness. It is honesty. You are allowed to be excellent and also depleted. You are allowed to be capable and also want to be caught.
