The friend group you outgrew but won't admit
Sometimes loneliness in a crowd means the crowd is wrong. Say the quiet thing.
You can be surrounded by women who love you and still feel alone if the group has become a museum of who you used to be.
The dynamic that was formed when you were 25 and single and struggling is not automatically the dynamic that works now that you are 38, remarried, and rebuilding. Loyalty is not the same as fit.
Toxic femininity keeps women in outgrown groups out of guilt. It is easier to endure quiet loneliness than to have the conversation about drift.
You do not have to burn anything down. You just have to stop pretending the closeness is what it used to be. The truth creates the space for a version of connection that actually fits your current life.
