When your openness becomes a liability

Being open is not the same as being unprotected. Confusing them is how good women get repeatedly disappointed.

Openness without discernment is not a virtue. It is a security flaw dressed as a virtue.

Toxic femininity often looks like a woman who is proud of never gatekeeping — her time, her attention, her emotional labor, her body. She calls it generosity. Her nervous system calls it a chronic breach.

Real femininity has doors. It is warm in the living room and locked in the bedroom until it decides otherwise. It does not owe every visitor full access.

Openness with discernment is not colder. It is sustainable. It is what allows the openness to still be available in five years, instead of collapsed into cynicism at 38.
