What your cycle is telling you about your life
The month is a mirror. If yours has become unbearable, ask what your body is refusing to keep hiding.
PMS is often described as biochemical noise. In my work it more often functions as a monthly audit — the week in which the truths you have been managing all month cannot be managed any longer.
The friend who takes and never gives. The job you stopped loving in April. The partner you have been auditioning for. In the luteal phase, the pretending fails, and everything you were tolerating shows up in full color.
That is not a malfunction. That is the body doing its job.
The women I work with stop treating that week as an enemy. They start listening to it. What is unbearable this week is usually what you have been asking yourself to bear all month.
